I've just run for fun/to get exercise in the past, but recently (I think thanks to Amber Green) I have wanted to become more of a "runner" - with the healthy/active/goal oriented lifestlye.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to run a 10 mile and a half marathon within the next two years.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I am training to run a 10 mile race this October (2015).

Personal:

I'm married to a wonderful man who will also be  my personal coach. We have 4 great kids ages 0-7years.  I love to dance and cook yummy, healhty meals/snacks/treats for my family.

Tired Run outside.

Getting ready for my race this weekend I'm copying the week before my Half Marathon.  This time I didn't really do a WU and CD, I just ran 3.5 miles.

7:49, 7:38, 7:41, 8:04 (last .5)

TOTAL: 27:16 at a 7:46!  I was tired by the end.  Started off too fast, but was proud I oculd do this for 3.5 miles.  :). At turn around (1/2 way point) the wind was strong against me.

Speed Repeats on treadmill.

1 mile WU, Run Hard 30 sec then Recover 30 sec - 10x's, 1.2 mile CD.  (I added the .2 miles because I wanted to run 3.5 miles.)

8:34, 7:50, 8:01, last .52 at 7:57

(I don't have the split times because my watch doesn't have me on a training program right now.)

This run felt great.  Really strong.  I felt like I could have gone on for miles at my cool down pace.  I'm going to start another round of training next week.  Right now, I'm excited about it and hoping to knock some time off of my average pace/half marathon.

TOTAL: 28:32 at an 8:07 avg

First innagural Northlake 5K/10K!

I have been fighting a cold all week - cough, sore throat, not a ton of energy.  But even with this, I was able to run this race pretty well.  My Garmin and the race course didn't match up exactly.  At the end of my race my Garmin said I had only run 5.98 miles so my split times were off from what the race said I ran this in.  The race said I ran this race at an 8:08 pace, but my Garmin said my avg. was 8:19.  Here is my Garmin's splits:

8:27, 8:25, 8:11, 8:21, 8:22, 8:18.

I would like to get this down to an 8:15 AVG on my Garmin.  I would like to run my Half at an 8:20 pace.

The weather was humid, but cloudy and in the low 70's, so not having the sun beating down on us was nice because we didn't start running until 8:30am.
